Dr. Umoren is known for his warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach. He creates a safe and supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward emotional wellness and sustainable living.

In addition to traditional psychiatric treatment, Dr. Umoren incorporates lifestyle-based and whole-person strategies into care planning. His integrative mental health model includes attention to sleep optimization, stress management, nutrition, exercise, social connection, and behavioral interventions alongside pharmacologic treatment. By addressing both biological and environmental contributors to mental health, he helps patients build long-term resilience—not just symptom relief.

He completed his Psychiatry residency at Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, where he developed specialized expertise in late-life depression, memory disorders, and complex psychiatric conditions.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Umoren serves as a Commander in the United States Navy Reserve and has extensive experience caring for veterans. He has developed and managed Adult Mental Health Clinics at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center and the Austin VA Medical Center. He has also managed the PTSD and general outpatient mental health clinics at the Temple VA Medical Center, strengthening his expertise in trauma-informed care.

Dr. Umoren is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Texas A&M University College of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is recognized as a trusted psychiatrist in the greater North Austin communities for his clinical excellence, professionalism, and commitment to personalized care.
